Finding a company that can properly construct a patio cover on a second story balcony is very difficult, so allow me to save you some time: Call Las Vegas Outdoor Shade and Patio.
Our west-facing upstairs room off the balcony gets direct full sun and cooked like a ceramic kiln in the summer. AC could never keep up. I wanted shade for the room and a covered respite where I could sit and enjoy a breeze without risk of spontaneously combusting in my lounge chair.
I contacted seven companies and most didn't want to do it, while others would but tried to steer me away from getting city permits (BIG red flag...you don't want to bypass this step, because an unpermitted structure attached to your home is likely not properly engineered and both a legal liability and a major dent to your home's value if you ever sell). I gave up and figured it just wasn't doable, until my wife showed me an ad for this company.

Armando pulled our house blueprints from the county, coordinated engineering, and obtained the required city permits. Note: The actual cost for engineering and permits was refreshingly reasonable because he doesn't inflate those costs. In fact, the cost was actually LESS than the companies that wanted us to skip the permits.
The project then commenced. The crew opened up the balcony floor and reinforced the internal framing to support the weight of patio cover posts and hold them in place for when those insane winds rip across the valley. If not properly anchored, high winds impart on the roof the same lift effect that enables airplanes to fly...yet another reason to engineer and permit your project. They then patched, textured, and repainted the ENTIRE balcony floor and it looked even better than before they started. The patio cover roof attaches to the house frame structure and they handled the re-stucco work, et al. We couldn't be happier with the final result. It looks great and the room is significantly cooler during the day. It also didn't budge during the recent wind storms.
Now to answer the question, "Would I call on this company again?" The answer is "yes," and I already have. I'll upload photos for Phase 2 when that project is completed.

Last month on April 5th, 2026, I began contacting several Local Las Vegas companies to get estimates for a patio cover, I knew what I wanted, a 14' wide X 11' deep (2 post) attached Alumiwood Patio Cover. After receiving 5 estimates … from different companies I decided to go with Las Vegas Outdoor Shade & Patio. The President and Owner, Armando came to my home and viewed the area within 1 day of contacting him I explained that I also needed an electric shade awning that was mounted 12 years prior removed and replaced by a 14' wide X 11' deep (2 post) attached Alumiwood Patio Cover. Armando understood exactly what I wanted and agreed to have the electric sun awning removed as well. We agreed on a price which was very competitive with all the others and he asked for a very small deposit after writing out a contract explaining exactly what would be done. Armando explained that he would submit the building permit and once approved would schedule the work to be completed. On Friday May 1st 2026 Armando Contacted me and scheduled delivery and installation for Saturday May 2nd. On May 2nd I was contacted by his install crew chief and advised they were 15 minutes out and arrived around 10 am the 3 man crew were escorted to my back yard and began removing the electric sun awning, once removed they immediately began building the patio cover and attaching it to the house. 3 1/2 hours later it was complete and was exactly as promised. The install crew cleaned the area and the County Inspection Notice was posted on my gate and I was advised an inspector would be out on Monday May 4th, we have enjoyed the sun free patio for 2 days now and The inspector arrived this morning and stated to me as he checked the build that it was a beautiful job. All in All I could not be happier with the professionalism, quality and design of our new Patio Cover I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a Patio Cover.

What an amazing experience I had with Las Vegas outdoor shades! After getting several estimates, I have to say that Armando was the most detailed with his explanations! He let me know what measurements were needed, how long the job would take with pulling the permit and doing the work. My patio was completed and inspected in 4 days! The team was on time, work was professionally done and they cleaned up after themselves leaving me nothing to do. His price was competitive and very reasonable. If you are looking for a patio look no further, Las Vegas outdoor Shade is the place to get the work done!!
